Aside from scones, weirdos with guitars are the favorite things for Chicago-based music writers Britt Julious (aka “Wife Material”) and Arianna Stern (aka “Tough Love”). Throw in a couple of ear-bleeding yelps, the eclectic use of electronics, and heavy distortion and you’ve got “I Love My Wife.” We’re Listening. Maybe you should be, too.
Britt Julious is a publicist, writer and critic based in Chicago. Her work has been published in print for the Chicago Tribune, ALARM, Beyond Race, Death and Taxes, Newcity, Venus Zine and online for the New York Times, TimeOut Chicago, ARTWRIT, This Recording, and Dossier Journal. She wishes it was physically possible to become Lizzy Mercier Descloux, her idol. She curates a blog on music, art, and contemporary culture, Britticisms.
Arianna Stern is a freelance writer and videographer based in Chicago. A recent graduate of Northwestern, she also curates a blog here. She’s written for The A.V. Club Chicago, This Recording, McSweeney’s Internet Tendency, and Venus Zine, among others. If you can talk to her about Julio Cortázar, The Olivia Tremor Control, tattoos, the Bay Area, or David Lynch, she will probably like you a lot.
